Reserving your adventure on the 4-day Machu Picchu Classic Tour with SPT Travel & Tours is simple and promises an unforgettable journey. To lock in your spot, you’ll need a $150 deposit per person. Once your deposit is received, we’ll quickly send a booking confirmation and a reservation form for you to fill in. Make sure to include:
- Your full name (as shown on your passport) or a clear photo of your passport
- Nationality
- Gender
- Passport number
- Date of birth (dd/mm/yyyy)
Remember, we need passport copies for each participant to get your Machu Picchu permits. As soon as these permits are secured, we’ll confirm everything’s set for your adventure.
Handling the Remaining Balance
When you arrive in Cusco, the balance for your Machu Picchu Classic Tour is due. This needs to be paid in cash, and you can use US dollars or Peruvian soles. Check the exchange rates ahead of time, as they can change.
Can I change tour dates after permits are issued?
Once permits are issued, the Peruvian government doesn’t allow date changes. If you must change your tour date, it’s a $100 fee since we’ll need a new permit. Remember, permits can’t be transferred or refunded, and if you cancel, the deposit isn’t refundable either.
Do I need my original passport for the tour?
Yes, you’ll need your original passport, matching the one used to book your Machu Picchu permit. It will be checked at Machu Picchu and when boarding the train. If you’re renewing your passport, send us your old one, and let us know with a copy of the new one as soon as possible.
What’s the weather like on the tour?
The weather’s pretty unpredictable, so dress in layers to stay comfy with the changing conditions.
What items are prohibited at Machu Picchu?

How do I get to Machu Picchu?
Reach Machu Picchu by hiking the Inca Trail (2 or 4 days), taking a train from Ollantaytambo (1 hour 45 minutes) or Poroy (3 hours), or a bus trip taking 6-7 hours.
